รูปปั้นของพระยามังรายในบริเวณลานวัดพระธาตุดอยเวียงชัยมงคล ที่ตั้งอยู่อย่างสง่างาม ประหนึ่งว่าท่านยังคงกำลังทอดพระเนตรลงสู่ชัยภูมิของบ้านโหล่งขอดแห่งเมืองพร้าว แห่งล้านนา
ทุ่งสวรรค์แห่งนี้ พระองค์ท่านได้ทรงพิจารณาไว้แต่คราวนั้นว่าคือทำเลชัยภูมิอันอุดมสมบูรณ์ จึงได้ตัดสินใจให้กองทัพได้หยุดพักที่นี่เพื่อรวบรวมความเข้มแข็งของกำลังพลและเสบียงอาหาร ก่อนที่จะเดินทัพเพื่อชัยชนะต่อไป โดยเฉพาะศึกกับอาณาจักรมอญหริภุญชัยในพ.ศ.1824 ความอุดมสมบูรณ์และสวยงามของโหล่งขอดเมืองพร้าวยังคงอยู่และเห็นได้ชัดตราบทุกวันนี้
The statue of King Mengrai at Wat Phrathat Doi Wiangchai Mongkol temple is majestically overlooking Lhong Kod village, Phrao of Lanna Kingdom. This blessed field was once considered by the king himself as the ideal location with the most abundant with food hence the decision to use this as a stop-over base for his army to regain strength before heading to many great victories including that of the war over the Mon Kingdom of Haripunchai (circa B.E 1824)
The abundance and beauty of this land of plenty is still apparent today.
